The Future is Exciting!
To achieve healthy communities in the two rural areas where we are located (Ngodzi and Kasese), Lifeline Malawi shall be focusing on:
- Reduction of infant, child and maternal morbidity and mortality among the communities through the provision of high quality primary health services targeting the most prevalent diseases in the community.
- Increase in public health education activities in collaboration with the other partners. i.e. A close relationship with the District health officer (DHO), District Environmental Health officer (DEHO) and the District Commissioner (DC) has been established. The District HSAs work closely with our HSAs.
- Continued Implementation of HIV/AIDS Interventions which include
- Prevention services through BCI, STI, PMTCT and VCT programs.
- Community based care and treatment program which includes a standardized treatment regime of ante-retroviral therapy for PLWA, as well as strengthening of the Home based Care programmes.
- Introduction of maternity services: To fulfill the recommendations that were presented in a Baseline Study conducted in the Ngodzi area three years ago, LM shall meet the challenge expressed by the Malawi District Health to compliment our current primary health services with maternity. With the introduction of basic obstetrical services, LM would become a health centre that shall significantly impact the maternal, fetal and neonatal mortality in the area.
- Continued expansion of our Community Outreach program through the introduction of additional weekly or bi-weekly Mobil Clinics into additional remote neighboring villages in the districts that we serve (Salima, Dowa and Kasungu).
