How can you make a difference?
Whether you are seeking to support our efforts on a monthly basis or wish to make a one-time donation, we present the following funding opportunities for you to choose from:
- Kasese Site Staff Housing $ 35,000 CDN per Duplex
With the expansion of our Centre of Excellence into another rural area of Malawi, we will need to construct appropriate housing for the Malawian medical professionals that we seek to employ in this district.
- Ngodzi - Maternity Ward: Capital = $150,000; Operating Costs = $100,000 per annum
In order to fulfill a need that our Base Line Study identified three years ago and to also honour a recent request from the Malawi District Health Office, we would like to compliment our current clinical services with the provision of maternity care.
- Ngodzi Laboratory: Capital Construction = $25,000, Equipment = $75,000
Current Laboratory facilities within the Ngodzi complex are very limited. With facility expansion plus the ability to fully equip the room with appropriate diagnostic equipment, we would be fulfilling our desire to have a fully functional laboratory.
- Ngodzi Community Housing: $10,000 per home
To provide culturally acceptable housing to the non-professional Lifeline Malawi staff working in our rural clinic. These 2 or 3 bedroom 40 sq meter homes shall be located approx 1 km from the Clinic.
- Refurbish Current (Ngodzi) Site: $25,000 one time
To ensure that LM is able to sustain its provision of primary health care and HIV/AIDS intervention to the current patients (approx 4,000 per month), the infrastructure within the Ngodzi Complex must be maintained on a routine basis.
- Medical Director: Annual Operating Costs, including salary and living allowance = $100.000
With the significant growth at Ngodzi and the expansion into Kasese, Lifeline Malawi requires a Medical Director who shall provide leadership to the medical staff of the organization by ensuring appropriate medical services are provided within the Salima, Dowa and Kasungu districts for the patients of both the Ngodzi and Kasese clinics.
- Leadership Development and Self Sustainment: $25,000 per annum
By supplementing our HIV/AIDS funding from the National Aids Commission of Malawi (part of the Global Aids Fund) with additional operating funds for leadership training and development for future sustainability, Lifeline Malawi (LM) will be able to completely implement an HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation program in the LM clinics.
- Community Outreach: $25,000 per annum
To achieve significant penetration in the Ngodzi area, funding is required for LM to expand its HIV/AIDS intervention in conjunction with its primary health services that are being provided in the weekly outreach clinics into the neighboring villages. The result of these mobile clinics will increase our patient load to over 4,000 per month.
- Medicines: $7,500 per order
Although a significance portion of our medicines are donated from Health Partners International in Canada or purchased from IDA through a sponsorship from Samaritan's Purse, there is still the need for additional medicines and clinical operating supplies. To ensure the effective treatment routines can be maintained with our increased patient load, these items can be purchased very economically locally.
- 200 Club: $35 - $500 per month
Basic clinical operating and administrative overhead costs have been traditionally paid by regular monthly contributions from our 200 Club. Although these types of costs continue to increase in relationship to Lifeline Malawi's overall growth, the organization ensures that at least 90% of all funds raised are sent to Malawi.
