Not only does Lifeline Malawi host regular HIV/AIDS clinics offering counselling, testing (with the results in under 60 seconds), Anti Retro Virals (ARVs) treatment, a support group for people living with AIDS (PLWA) and go out into the community to educate on the issue of AIDS and behavioural change, we also have been treating women who are pregnant with HIV/AIDS to prevent the transmission to their babies. Early indications are that his is being very successful with the rate of transmission falling from 30% to 2%.
